Carpenter is AA high school softball player of year

Brentsville District High School softball player Abby Carpenter was recently named 2011 softball AA high school Player of the Year by the Virginia High School Coaches Association. Carpenter led the Tigers to the Evergreen District title who then lost during regional play. She ended the season with a .566 batting average while hitting nine doubles, four home runs, scoring 20 runs and totaling 17 runs batted in.
Abby will play softball at Siena College in New York. She received a softball and academic scholarship.
