Nov. 30 Lieutenant Governor Ralph Northam released a statement welcoming relocated NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships to Salem, Va.
Earlier this year the NCAA, announced it would move a series of championship events from North Carolina following the passage of the discriminatory House Bill 2. Lt. Governor Northam called on the NCAA to consider Virginia.
Salem will host the NCAA Division III soccer championships on December 2 and 3. The CIAA’s 2016 football championship was hosted at Salem Stadium on November 12, and in February 2017 the CIAA indoor track and field championships will be at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
