It provides a unique opportunity for our area children to learn the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and dedication while being a part of one of the world’s largest youth sports organizations.
GMBL will begin its 2016 season on April 9, with its opening ceremonies. Adults interested in volunteering to coach, in concessions, fields and grounds, and more are invited to contact Kim Payne at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or Colby Poteat at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
A GMBL news release said the league has always relied on dedicated volunteers for 59 years. Hundreds of adults have provided a great sporting and community experience for players, parents and the community, a press release said.
Kevin Jennings, GMBL president, was quoted in a news release as saying, “Last Spring we had a great turnout for registration with over 900 kids, and we’re looking forward to beating that number this season and building upon our 8u World Series win.
Jennings also noted that the league will host several District Tournaments and the Virginia State Tournament for the 16-18 year old division.”
