Virginia to transition to elecronic and phone reporting of game harvesting in September

Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, all hunters (including those who are not required to purchase a license) who harvest a deer, turkey, bear, bobcat, or elk, will need to check their harvest by calling DWR (866-GOT-GAME), logging on to gooutdoorsvirginia.com, or by using the mobile app harvest reporting system, GoOutdoorsVa (free through the app store).

New competition ups rivalry between Va. Tech and UVa

Building on a tradition started when the two schools first competed against each other in a football game in 1895, the Commonwealth Clash is a head-to-head, points-based competition between the athletic teams at the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech. The PWGFS league offers a variety of summer camps and clinics. Players are divided into groups based on their skill level. They will learn the fundamentals of the game, and progress from there. Camps are held in the evening when it is cooler.
