Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, all hunters (including those who are not required to purchase a license) who harvest a deer, turkey, bear, bobcat, or elk, will need to check their harvest by calling DWR (866-GOT-GAME), logging on to gooutdoorsvirginia.com, or by using the mobile app harvest reporting system, GoOutdoorsVa (free through the app store).

The Northern Virginia Senior Olympics committee has announced that nine ball pool and corn hole toss will be added to the 2015 roster of events which will take place Sept. 12-25. The registration fee of $12, which covers multiple events, will remain the same. David Jerome of Haymarket is president of NVSO.
The Mustangs Track Club has announced its 2015 registration dates. The Mustangs Track Club is a program that seeks to teach children to be competitive, while having fun at the same time. The program is open to youth athletes ages 4-18 and has programs in Manassas and Culpeper.
The Washington Redskins announced that head football coach Sean Finnerty of Liberty High School in Bealeton, Va. has been named the Redskins High School Coach of the Week for the week of Oct. 27.
John Yancy, head golf professional, at Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club has announced the winners of the 2014 Heritage Hunt Players Tournament that was held on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Stone Bridge High School stadium , Ashburn, was the site of the 2014 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics, field events held Sun., Sept. 21. Seven events including discus, shot put, mini javelin throw, Frisbee throw, standing long jump, running long jump and high jump were held in five or 10 year age groups in separate male and female divisions. Some winners were from Prince William and Fauquier Counties.
