In its 33rd year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company has named Ricky Slade of C.D. Hylton High School in Prince William County Public Schools as its 2017-18 Gatorade Virginia Football Player of the Year. The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence and high standards of academic achievement.
The Woodbridge High School Vikings defeated the C.D. Hylton High School Bulldogs 28-14 to clinch the 6A Occoquan Regional Football Championship.

They both have the privilege of calling Joe Harrington their head basketball coach. Wakefield School will start practice in November, heading into Harrington’s second year as it head basketball coach.
