Virginia to transition to elecronic and phone reporting of game harvesting in September

Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, all hunters (including those who are not required to purchase a license) who harvest a deer, turkey, bear, bobcat, or elk, will need to check their harvest by calling DWR (866-GOT-GAME), logging on to gooutdoorsvirginia.com, or by using the mobile app harvest reporting system, GoOutdoorsVa (free through the app store).

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources reports that it is moving forward with emergency regulations that will reduce the minimum size of striped bass for charter boat and recreational anglers in the summer and fall fishery in the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal tributaries from 20 to 19 inches.
