The beloved tradition of the annual Warrenton Christmas Parade ignites the magic of the holiday season on Friday, November 30 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Old Town Warrenton.
At the conclusion of the parade, Mayor Carter Nevill will illuminate the town’s Christmas tree on the courthouse steps, followed by a fireworks display to make the holiday season bright. Don’t leave without touring Gum Drop Square following the parade and visit Santa’s Secret Workshop, have your photo taken with Santa and enjoy live entertainment - including Christmas carolers. Gum Drop Square will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until Christmas.
“The largest nighttime parade in our area is only days away! The Warrenton Christmas Parade Elves are overjoyed to welcome our new title sponsor for the parade, UVA Community Credit Union. We are excited to be working with the same organization that makes Charlottesville’s Grand Illumination possible,” said Parade Director, Sean Polster.
The parade will depart from the intersection of 6th Street and Main Street then continue west through Courthouse Square onto Waterloo Road and concludes on Ashby Street. Spectators are encouraged to find a spot anywhere along the entire parade route. Toys for Tots will collect new unwrapped toys during the parade. In the event of inclement weather, the parade and all festivities will take place as scheduled.
“The Warrenton Christmas Parade has brought the community together in such a positive way throughout the years. UVA Community Credit Union is honored to be a part of the future of this time-honored tradition.” said Alison DeTuncq, President/CEO of UVA Community Credit Union.
