Actors ages 5-18 wanted to audition for FCT’s Wizard of Oz Feb. 17-18

Fauquier Community Theatre will be hosting auditions for The Wizard of Oz for males and females age 5 to 18. When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and they meet a Scarecrow that needs a brain, a Tin Man missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West to earn his help.

Auditions will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, from 6-9 p.m.. and Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Callbacks, by invitation only, will be Sunday, Feb. 19, from 2 tp 5 p.m. Auditions and callbacks will be held at Fauquier Community Theatre at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA.

Audition requirements include a completed audition form found at http://www.FCTstage.org a pic,ture you don’t mind parting with, a list of all conflicts through the month of June, a prepared song from a Broadway musical no longer than one minute (bring a cd or sheet music). A piano player will be present.  You will be taught a dance so please wear clothes you can move in. The show will be performed June 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11. The show is being directed by Evelyn Rice, music directed by Heath West, choreographed by Alyssa Gilmore, and stage managed by Patrick Nye. The show is being produced by Amanda Gibson.
