Visit Prince William countryside during annual farm tour Sept. 24-25

Area residents may enjoy a fall weekend in the countryside Sept. 24-25, experiencing life on a farm today and the rich rural history of western Prince William County, during the 16th annual Farm Tour, which is free to visitors due to generous sponsors.

Eight locations with fun and educational activities for the whole family will be open to the public. Farm tour hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, although there may be some adjustment in open and closing hours, depending on the stop. Asbury United Methodist Church, Nokesville, will be open on Saturday only, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Start at any location and visit as many of the farms as you wish, traveling in the comfort of your own vehicle.  Some of the participating farms may offer services or locally grown products for purchase.

Families, cameras and picnics are welcome. Restroom facilities will be available at some stops. Sorry, no pets are allowed.

Stories about the eight farms on the tour, identified by “stop” numbers, will be posted on this website beginning Sept. 16.

Look for bright yellow “Farm Tour” directional signs in the tour area on Sept. 24-25.
