Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College will host a free writing conference April 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The conference is open to everyone but registration is required at http://www.novamawritingconference2016.eventbrite.com Lunch. will be provided.
Timothy Denevi, assistant professor of creative writing at George Mason University, will present a session called “Writing Narratives, Memoirs and Nonfiction” from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Denevi is the author of “Hyper,” a personal story about what it’s like to be a child with ADHD.
Prince William County Poet Laureate Robert Scott will discuss poetry from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Scott teaches English at Osbourn Park High School.
After lunch, Dackeyia Q. Sterling will talk about publishing and marketing techniques as well as how to write what publishers want. Sterling is the CEO and publisher for Entertainment Power Players.
