On Saturday, May 21, Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland will join Rise Up Prince William for the 4th Annual Walk for Prince William, a 40-mile walk across the county.
Beginning in Woodbridge and ending in Haymarket, the walk will raise donations for a number of charities along the route.
Supervisor Candland will walk to support organizations and to bring awareness to a number of the pressing needs of our shared community in Prince William County, according to a press release from his office.
Participating grocery stores will have an in-store display and collection box for donations available for the weeks leading up to the Walk on May 21.
On the day of the Walk, volunteers will be outside each store providing lists of needed donation items.
Individuals can help out by visiting one of the participating grocery stores, picking up a shopping list from the in-store display, and purchasing items for donation.
The public is invited to the finish line party that takes place from 6-8pm at the QBE Business Park (14600 Washington Street Haymarket) on May 21, 2016.
The closing ceremony is free to the public; there will be live music, children’s activities and refreshments in celebration of the day’s success.
