Auditions for Little Shop of Horrors Feb. 6 & 8

Auditions for actors ages 18 and older for LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, to be presented by the Center for the Arts’ Rooftop Productions in April, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 1:30-4:30pm and Monday, Feb. 8 from 6-9 pm at the Center for the Arts at 9419 Battle St., Old Town Manassas.

Auditioners should bring a resume and a photo and prepared to sing a song from the show.  There will also be cold readings from the script. All roles are open for casting, according to the audition notice.

The show will run on Fridays and Saturdays from April 8-23, at the same location as the auditions.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will be directed by Ted Ballard. The book and lyrics are by Howard Ashman and music is by Alan Menken.

Play synopsis: Seymour Krelborn is a meek assistant at a floral shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop an unquenchable thirst for human blood.  As Audrey II grows bigger and meaner, the carnivorous plant promises limitless fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of blood. Just when it’s too late, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and his true drive for world-domination.
