In December Fauquier Community Theatre will feature a new spin on an old Christmas classic. ‘Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, ‘by Tom Mula. This show tells the tale of how Ebenezer Scrooge’s deceased business partner redeems himself from eternal torment by saving Scrooge from his miserable existence.
Director Maggie Bausch returns to the theater she grew up in to create an irreverent, funny, but deeply moving story. Laurie Bersack is the producer.
This production takes stage Dec. 4 and will run weekends through December 20. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Friday & Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available online at fct.stage.org or by phone at 540-349-8760.
Christie Clark, public relations manager for FCT said, “Dinner and show combo tickets for the show Sunday, December 13th are available with dinner immediately following the performance at The Inn at Vint Hill (the Army’s old Officer’s Quarters) across the street for the theatre.
Also, a great holiday gift idea is available in the form of FCT gift certificates, Clark added.
Don Richardson, FCT artistic director, pointed out an extra treat for those attending ‘Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol’, in the form of long-planned renovations of FCT’s performance space, the Theater on the Green at Vint Hill.
He explained, “The auditorium seating is receiving new cushions and upholstery and the walls will get a fresh coat of paint. Also there will be new tile flooring and updated carpeting is being installed. The seating capacity will expand by 20 additional seats.”
The refurbished theater will be ready just in time for the Christmas show-a wonderful early Christmas gift for local audiences.
“These renovations,” Richardson noted, “will complete the work already done by Parks and Recreation in replacing the heating and air conditioning systems.”
FCT is grateful to patrons who supported fundraising efforts to achieve this important milestone!
