Nov. 14 play and forum on breast cancer awareness for caregivers

To commemorate October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and November as National Family Caregivers Month, B.E.A.T. Cancer: Breast Education Awareness & Treatment invites caregivers, cancer survivors and anyone interested in the journey of the caregiver to attend “The Actual Dance.”

This award-winning play will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Lakeside Theater at Northern Virginia Community College’s Woodbridge Campus (NOVA-Woodbridge) at 2 p.m. and includes a discussion session after the performance.

The play is free, but donations are welcome. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. NOVA-Woodbridge is located at 15200 Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge.

Samuel A. Simon wrote and performs the play that follows Sam and his wife on their graceful and inspiring journey through the uncharted waters of illness. The Actual Dance has been described as one of the most beautiful love stories ever told.

This play tells an inspiring story of resilience and the power of the human heart as a man takes care of his wife during her breast cancer treatment and recovery.

B.E.A.T. Cancer is a coalition of local stakeholders committed to improving breast care in the Prince William community. B.E.A.T.
