Project Mend-A-House invites the community to its 15th Annual Taste of the Town fundraiser and dinner on Wednesday, October 28th at 6:30 pm at the VFW Post 1503 at 14631 Minnieville Road, Dale City.
Enjoy delicious food from over 30 restaurants and vote for your favorite Build-A-House entry!
The food tasting event helps low-income seniors, people with disabilities and veterans in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park remain safely and independently in their homes by raising funds used to provide free home repairs, safety and accessibility modifications.
J. Manley Garber will be recognized as the organization’s first recipient of its Lily Blackwell Lifetime Achievement Award! Garber is being recognized for his decades of work making our community a better place for all.
Jennifer Schock-Bolles, executive director, said in a press release, “We want to help more people like Mrs. T, a 70 year old who has lived in her home for over 50 years and who is raising her two great-grandchildren. Termites damaged her kitchen floor to such an extent that it was ready to collapse. We removed and replaced the damaged floor but much more work needs to be done to make the home safer for her and the children and prevent further damage. We need your help.”
