2015 Adrenaline Film Project applications due Oct. 16

The Virginia Film Festival is preparing to deliver its annual highly-caffeinated dose of energy and excitement with the launch of applications for its popular Adrenaline Film Project.

The Virginia Film Festival, coming up from November 5-8 at venues throughout Charlottesville, is presented by the University of Virginia and the Office of Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts.

Now in its 12thh year, the Adrenaline Film Project is a 72-hour guerrilla filmmaking adventure in which 10-12 teams made of up of filmmakers from throughout the region pitch, write, cast, shoot, edit, and screen their own 5-7 minute films with guidance from acclaimed guest mentors.

This year’s mentors will once again include AFP co-founder, noted filmmaker and Charlottesville native Jeff Wadlow, along with Charlottesville-based filmmaker Derek Sieg and acclaimed acting coach Leigh Kilton-Smith. The mentors work closely with each team throughout the process, and the project concludes with a competitive screening and awards ceremony before a live audience at Culbreth Theatre on Saturday, November 8 at 9:00 PM.

In addition to working with the Adrenaline Film Project mentors, Adrenaline filmmakers often have the opportunity to interact with and learn from high profile VFF guests. In past years, Adrenaline film sets have been visited by legendary director Norman Jewison (In the Heat of the Night), film and television producer Mark Johnson (The Chronicles of Narnia, Breaking Bad), Brad Silberling (Director, Lemony Snicket), Ron Yerxa (Producer, Little Miss Sunshine), and many more.
