A variety of daily attractions awaits visitors to the 2015 Prince William County Fair, at the Fairgrounds on Va, Rte. 234 a mile north of Manassas.
Topping the feature events will be the Welde’s Big Bear Show which is free with general admission.
In the 20-minute show, the bears will perform outstanding acts of balance and grace.
Bears have been part of the Welde family for nearly 70 years and their 1200-2000 pound pets (13 bears in all) have been featured in television shows and movies.
Their performances are raising the level of awareness of the danger of losing the beautiful endangered species.
The bears will put on daily shows and will be available for viewing throughout the fair.
This is the first time the fair has hosted the bears so be prepared to be thoroughly entertained and educated at the same time.
Other attractions include:
* No Joes Clown Circus which is returning again after popular demand. The performers will be here to entertain everyone, young and old. They feature three-full rings of fun for the entire family. They have been extremely well received in the past with huge crowds. A new show is planned for this year.
* Reggie Rice’s “Delusion of Illusions” show is no ordinary show. It’s a magical adventure that takes the audience on a ride into the crazy imagination of Comedy Illusionist Rice. This family show is filled with illusions, captivating dance routines and hilarious comedy acts.
* Jeff Robbins Mountain Music is returning yet again for another year, from the hills of southwestern Virginia. Recording artist Robbins bring back his show where the audience participates, including building their own instrument they can take home with them.
* Ackmonster Chainsaw Artist Brian Ackley is returning this year. He is one of the nation’s top professional chainsaw sculptors, dedicated to promoting and preserving the integrity of the art form and its performance. At a typical how, from behind protective netting, onlookers will observe saw roaring and wood chips flying as he transforms a log into a work of art.
* Jurassic Kingdom is the newest show in prehistoric history. Visitors can watch as they travel along with the host back into prehistoric times to witness and learn first-hand what life was like thousands of years go. From fossils to witnessing what it would have been like to see a dinosaur hatch from an egg, to seeing juvenile dinos, to a full grown 13 foot tall life-size walking and growling Tyrannosaurs Rex.
Other events taking place during the fair include baby contests, pet shows, livestock judging and returning Lionel Ward and his tribute to Elvis on Aug. 22 and The Gunsmoke Band on Aug.15 in the Show Barn.
