A lively performance of Little Mermaid Jr. on stage at Vint Hill

Get a taste of the sea nearby in mid-July when Fauquier Community Theatre presents its version of Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr., in FCT’s intimate setting at 4225 Aiken Drive, Vint Hill. This production has been adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway musical.

Producer Amanda Gibson explains the scenario: “In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above. But first she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she’s the girl whose enchanting voice he’s been seeking.

The show will feature such musical favorites as “Part of Your World,” “She’s In Love,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls” and the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea.”

See Molly Childers as Ariel, Daniel O’Hara as Prince Eric, Andrew Perrius as King Triton, Ashby Nye as Sebastian, Julia Karns as Flounder, Isabella McDonald as Scuttle, and Megan Moore as Ursula.

The show is being directed by Evelyn Rice and Jeremy Vest. Assistant director is Zachary Thaler, music director is Heath West, choreographer is Ali Amado, produced by Amanda Gibson and stage managed by Patrick Nye. 

Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr. will be performed at The Fauquier Community Theatre at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA 20187 on July 24 and 25 at 7 p.m. and July 26 at 2:p.m.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors/students.  Tickets are available online at http://www.FCTstage.org
