Colonel Christian F. Wortman, US Marine Corps, currently the Commander of the Basic School, MCB Quantico, will speak at the Freedom Museum on July 26. He will discuss the USMC Basic School and the future of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Colonel Wortman was commissioned in the USMC upon graduation from the United states Naval Academy in 1991. His career has included command and staff positions afloat and ashore in three different Marine Divisions. His service included serving with a Marine Battalion during Operation Iraqi Freedom and leading a unit during Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines. Colonel Wortman also served as Senior Advisor to the Afghan General Staff Chief of Plans, Afghan Assistant Minister for Strategy and Policy, and Afghan Chief of General Staff.
The presentation will be at the Freedom Museum from 7:00 PM to 8:45 PM. The Museum is located in the Manassas Airport Terminal, 10600 Harry Parrish Blvd., Manassas, VA 20110.
