On Saturday, May 30, Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland will join Rise Up Prince William for the third annual Walk for Prince William, a 32-mile walk across the county. Beginning in Woodbridge and ending in Haymarket, the walk will raise donations for a number of charities along the route.
According to a news release from his office, Supervisor Candland will walk to support organizations and to bring awareness to a number of the pressing needs of our shared community in Prince William County.
In-store displays and collection boxes are at participating grocery stores now. On Walk Day, Saturday, May 30, volunteers will be outside each store providing lists of needed donation items. People can help out by visiting one of the participating grocery stores, picking up a shopping list from the in-store display, and purchasing items for donation.
The public is invited to a free finish line party from 6 to 8 p.m. at the QBE Business Park, 14600 Washington Street Haymarket. There will be live music, children’s activities including a bounce house, face painting and “boot camp” fitness.
