Police report insecticide sprayed through hole in bathroom door; victim was in bathroom

**ARRESTS**

Attempted Malicious Wounding with a Caustic Substance – On May 19th at 2:54AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 12600 block of Rushing Creek Ct in Bristow (20136) to investigate an assault. The victim, a 40 year old man of Bristow, reported to police that he and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim. After the assault, the victim proceeded to interior bathroom and locked the door to get away from the accused. At that point, the accused used a screwdriver and dismantled the door knob, creating a hole into the bathroom. The accused then retrieved an insecticide aerosol can and sprayed the contents into the bathroom through the hole. The contents of the can came into contact with the victim’s body and made it difficult for the victim to breathe inside the bathroom. Police were eventually contacted and responded to the home. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Felony Hit & Run | Felony Eluding – On May 21st at 8:21AM, officers responded to the 12800 block of Effingham Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a suspicious person. The caller reported to police that a man, later identified as the accused, had been sitting in a vehicle in the above area since the night prior. Officers further learned that the accused was wanted in Prince William County and other area jurisdictions. Once in the area, officers encountered the accused and issued commands for him to exit the vehicle. At that point, the accused backed his vehicle toward the officers before driving through a grassy common area and onto Beaver Pond Rd. The accused was pursued to the area of Smoketown Rd and Minnieville Rd where he disregarded a red traffic signal and was struck by another vehicle. After the crash, the accused fled on foot and was eventually taken into custody. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested.

Gavin Gerald SIMMS, 25, of 3591 Forestdale Ave in Woodbridge
Charged with felony hit & run, felony eluding, reckless driving and driving on a revoked license
Previously wanted for hit & run, driving on a revoked license and phone threats
Court date: July 13, 2015 | Bond: held WITHOUT bond

Malicious Wounding | Armed Robbery *ARREST – On May 21st, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force located the suspect involved in the robbery which was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 14600 block of Brook Dr in Woodbridge on April 14th. The suspect, identified as Timothy BROWN, was arrested in Hyattsville MD without incident and will be awaiting extradition back to Virginia. Detectives are still seeking to identify the remaining suspect who accompanied BROWN to the residence.

Malicious Wounding | Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On April 14th at 4:25PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14600 block of Brook Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed that two suspects came to the victim’s residence in the above area to purchase marijuana. During the encounter, one of the suspects displayed a knife and cut the victim, a 19 year old man, in the hand before taking marijuana and a handgun belonging to the victim. The suspects fled the area prior to police arriving at the home. The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. A search warrant was obtained and subsequently executed at the victim’s home regarding the narcotics. The investigation continues. This was not a random incident. On May 12th, detectives from the Robbery Unit were able to identify one of the suspects involved in this incident. Detectives identified this suspect as Timothy BROWN and obtained warrants for his arrest. Detectives are still seeking to identify the remaining suspect who accompanied BROWN to the residence.

The remaining suspect was described as a black male, between 15 & 17 years of age, 5’10”, 150lbs with a thin build

**INCIDENTS**

Residential Burglary – On May 22nd at 1:21AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 10200 block of Launch Cir in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary. The resident of the apartment reported to police that the burglary occurred between 8:00AM and 4:30PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. A laptop, jewelry and other property were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On May 21st at 8:40PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 8200 block of Crackling Fire Dr in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:00AM and 1:45PM. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a rear sliding glass door which was hound damaged. A gaming console and other property were reported missing.

Residential Burglary – On May 20th at 2:13PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13400 block of Vista Forest Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 12:45PM and 1:05PM. The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured window. No property was reported missing.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 21st at 8:12AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5000 block of Tarpon Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 6:00PM on May 20th and 7:40AM on May 21st, entry was attempted into the home through a front window which was found damaged. No entry was made into the residence and no property was reported missing.
