Prince William Public Library System (PWPLS) offers a number of programs throughout the month of May for all ages including families, children and adults. Manassas Reads Book Festival - For all ages
Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The City of Manassas, Manassas City Public Schools and the Prince William Public Library System will host Manassas Reads at the Harris Pavilion in old town Manassas. This is a free, family event for all ages.
Monday Madness at the Bull Run Regional Library - For ages 8-14.
Monday, May 4 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Top Chef Competition
Test your culinary chops in this fun cooking competition. A mystery ingredient will be given in each round (appetizer, main course and dessert). Youth will use their creativity to come up with something edible. Registration begins 2 weeks before program date.
Groovy Nate - For ages 2 to 6
Wednesday, May 20 from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 - Central Community Library
Nate blends music, puppetry, movement and comedy into one groovy experience. Get a required free ticket beginning May 13.
Woodbridge Flute Choir - For all ages
Sunday, May 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Bull Run Regional Library
The Woodbridge Flute Choir includes 25 flutists who perform with a wide range of flutes, from bass to piccolo, and is the largest ensemble of its type in Northern Virginia. No registration required.
Kindergarten Prep - For adults
Thursday, May 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. - Central Community Library
Two of Prince William County’s kindergarten teachers will share simple ideas to help your preschooler get ready to learn and successfully transition to kindergarten.
Mapping in Virginia - For adults
Tuesday, May 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Bull Run Regional Library
Virginia is rich in history, and much of it is illustrated. Come explore some of the images of Virginia, and the stories behind them with Charlie Grymes, Geography of Virginia Instructor, George Mason University. Bull Run Annual Author Fair - For adults
Saturday, May 23 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Bull Run Regional Library
Come meet local authors who call Prince William and our neighboring communities home. Doors open at 2:00 p.m. Chat with the authors and purchase books until 4:00 p.m. Authors attending have written mysteries, fantasy, children’s books, teen novels, self-help, historical fiction and more!
