Army Officers’ Wives’ Club of the Greater Washington Area (AOWCGWA) monthly luncheon on Thursday, April 16, in the Koran Room of the Joint Base Ft. Myer-Henderson Hall Officers’ Club from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lisette Clemons, Air Force wife, mother and teacher will present a program on the American space program. Clemons was the Teacher in Residence at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama for nine summers where she instructed teachers how to teach their students about the space program in the United States.
She has worked alongside astronauts from the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle programs and will share stories from the Apollo space program as told to her by those who have travelled to the moon.
April’s menu will be house salad, pistachio and basil roasted pork tenderloin, steamed broccoli, garlic mashed potatoes and chocolate cake at $25. Reservations must be received by Tuesday, April 7
