On Saturday, Feb. 28, the story and characters of Alice in Wonderland will come to life in shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. onstage at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.
Reading Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” is a favorite rite of childhood in many families. The fantasy tale’s characters, besides Alice, of course, are the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat and Queen of Hearts.
The musical adaption of the childhood tale complemented by whimsical music, vibrant costumes and spectacular scenic elements. will be presented by Pushcart Players.
Nominated for an Emmy, Pushcart Players has been presenting shows for children for more than 40 years. Many of the people involved in Pushcart Players are former educators. Headquartered in Verona, N.J, Pushcart Players presents fully mounted productions for children, ranging from fairy tales to historical plays, to audiences across the globe. The group previously enchanted Hylton Center audiences with “Happily Ever After – A Cinderella Tale.”
“Alice in Wonderland” performance is a part of the Hylton Family Series, featuring events for families to enjoy and experience the arts together. Prince William County is the 2014-2015 Hylton Family Series Sponsor.
The Hylton Family Series concludes the 2014-2015 season with folk icon Peter Yarrow who presents a children’s concert on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 2 p.m.
