Ranger Talks
Sit down with a ranger to talk about Prince William Forest Parks rich natural and cultural diversity. Learn about what makes Prince William Forest Park such a unique place. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine, Civilian Conservation Corps, Piedmont Forest are just a few of the stories for talks. All talks take place at the amphitheater next to the Visitor Center

Guided Hikes
Take a walk with a Park Ranger to explore some of the wonders that is Prince William Forest Park. These hikes are designed to tell the stories that are often hidden.

Sat 9 August - 10:00 a.m. - Pyrite Mine, meet at parking lot D - 2.5 mile moderately strenuous hike.

Sat 9 August - 2:00 p.m. - Birds of Piedmont Forest, leave from the Visitor Center - Duration 1 hour - fairly easy half mile hike.

Sun 10 August - 10:00 a.m. - Pyrite Mine, meet at parking lot D - 2.5 mile moderately strenuous hike.

Sat 16 August - 10:00 a.m. - Pyrite Mine, meet at parking lot D - 2.5 mile moderately strenuous hike.

Sat 16 August - 2:00 p.m. - Pyrite Mine, meet at parking lot D - 2.5 mile moderately strenuous hike.

Sun 17 August - 10:00 a.m. - Farms to Forest, meet at Oak Ridge Campground parking lot - Duration 1.5 hours - moderately strenuous hike.

Sun 17 August - 2:00 p.m. - Birds of Piedmont Forest, leave from the Visitor Center -Duration 1 hour - fairly easy half mile hike.

Evening Program
Join a Park Ranger at the amphitheater in Oak Ridge Campground for some fun and stories. These programs offer a fun way to learn about Prince William Forest Park’s natural and historical significance. Designed for all ages. All programs are at Oak Ridge Campground Amphitheater.

Sat 9 August - 6:00 p.m. - Treevia - fun night of riddles and trivia on the tress of Prince William Forest Park. Program is for all ages.

Sat 16 August - 6:00 p.m. - Oak Ridge Challenge - join in the fun, learn about Prince William Forest Park while challenging other visitors. Program is for all ages.
