Auburn Middle School National Junior Honor Society wants your shoes – at least the ones you no longer want to keep.
Auburn students in the NJHS are aiming to help the Fauquier Family Shelter raise funds by supporting its shoe collection project.
The Vint Hill Transitional Housing program of Fauquier Family Shelter is trying to collect 300 bags, each holding 25 pairs of shoes, to earn funding.
Until May 29 Auburn Middle School, located at 7270 Riley Road, near Nokesville and Gainesville but with a Warrenton address, will serve as a drop-off location for shoes; the Fauquier Family Shelter Office at 85 Keith Street in Warrenton is a second drop-off location.
All shoes must be donated in pairs. All types of shoes – from flip flops to work boots to stilettos – will be accepted. Worn-out shoes can also be donated for recycling.
