Soroptimists to host comedian/magician for May 30 fundraiser
Soroptimist of Manassas will conduct a fundraising event, An Evening of Comedy and Magic with magician and comedian Scott Alexander, on Friday May 30, from 6:30 to 11 p.m., at the Piedmont Club, 14675 Piedmont Vista Drive, Haymarket.
Alexander was a finalist on America’s Got Talent, and headlined at Caesar’s Palace Las Vegas.
According to a news release, all proceeds will benefit Soroptimist Manassas programs which support women and girls in the local community. These include scholarships: Violet Richardson, Ruby, Elizabeth Davidson, and Women’s Opportunity Award, recipients of these awards will be honored at the gala.
Soroptimist of Manassas also supports local charitable organizations achieve their goals working with women and girls by awarding grants to the organizations, the release said.
Tickets are $60 per person and includes a cocktail hour, full course dinner, silent auction, and raffle as well as Scott Alexander’s performance.
