Fauquier County Department of Parks and Recreation will host a free “Day of Discovery” on Saturday, May 10, to mark the fifth anniversary of Northern Fauquier Community Park in Marshall. The park is located right off VA 55 west.
The Fun for All Ages event, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., is open to the public at no charge, and will take place at Northern Fauquier Community Park, 4155 Monroe Parkway, Marshall, VA 20115.
Activities, entertainment and participants will include children’s performer Uno Dos Tres Con Andres, Fauquier Community Band, softball and rugby demonstrations, Marshall Fire Department, Fauquier Heritage and Preservation Foundation, Middleburg Humane Foundation’s dog obedience demo.
Also, there will be Sweet Frog’s mascot, children’s games and crafts, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries fishing information, and a “Soil Tunnel” provided by John Marshall Soil and Water Conservation Division.
Concession stands run by Fauquier Freeze and Warrenton Rugby will be open. Dee’s Snack Shack will have funnel cakes and other treats available.
Northern Fauquier Community Park’s Day of Discovery event is geared for all ages and will be a great event for the community to explore their local park and discover all the features and beauty it has to offer.
