Join the Manassas Park Community Center staff and Manassas Park city officials on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a celebration to mark the center’s fourth year anniversary.
The center will host an open house to celebrate its fourth year of operation and to release the schedule for its spring and summer programs and camps. The event offers a great opportunity for members, patrons, and the overall community to sign up for programs, meet instructors, watch class demonstrations and tour the facility.
The community center, at 99 Adams Street, is located in Costello Park, just off of Old Centreville Road. The 80,000 sq. ft. public recreation facility contains an NCAA-rated pool, a 20,000 sq. ft. gymnasium, a teen center, 11 multi-purpose rooms, public classrooms, a fitness center, aerobics studio, computer lab, and a banquet hall with catering kitchen.
Also on this day, use of the Center is free from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The enter opened in January 2010 – a project that was five years in the planning. In its first year of operation, the center had a little over 49,000 patrons; today there are more than 147,000 – a 300 percent increase, according to a news release.
