WSHS Band programs to benefit from fireworks stand that opens June 20th

Woodbridge Senior High School (WSHS) Band Boosters is sponsoring its annual fireworks sale beginning on Thursday, June 20, 2013, in the school’s parking lot. Fireworks will be sold through July 5, 2013.

The stand will be open from 5-9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and staffed by students and adult volunteers. The stand will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.  Cash and credit/debit cards will be accepted. On July 3rd and 4th, the stand will have extended hours to accommodate holiday shoppers.

“We hope the community will come out and support the Mighty Viking Marching Band,” said Nancy Ro, president of the WSHS Band Boosters. Proceeds from this event will benefit all band and guard programs at Woodbridge High School, helping to defray the cost of things such as competitions, uniforms, and instrument repairs and purchases.

The school is located at 3001 Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge. The fireworks stand will be located just south of the school’s driver’s ed lot.

“Community support is very important to the students who participate in the marching band program, the pep band, and the varsity, concert and symphonic bands,” Ro said. “As always, we hope to see you at our stand and we thank you for your continued support.”
