Derek Crowe memorial golf tournament Sept. 14 set to raise funds for scholarships
The Derek Wayne Crowe Memorial Scholarship Foundation will host a fund raising golf tournament on Friday, Sept. 14, at Heritage Golf and Country Club in Gainesville, VA. Deadline to register is Monday, Sept. 10. On the day of the memorial tournament, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with tee time at 9 a.m. The format will be captain’s choice scramble with an awards dinner afterwards.
According to a news release from Barbara Crowe, the tournament will help fund two $2,000 merit-based scholarships to a male and a female senior student/athlete, who has demonstrated a commitment to academic achievement, leadership in his/her sport, in addition to being actively involved in community service, especially with challenged children in Prince William County.
The scholarship fund is administered by the Prince William County Education Foundation which is a tax deductible 501 (c)3 charity.
