Chapman Beverley Mill Historic Site (Turn The Mill Around Campaign) and the Afro American Historical Association of Fauquier County (AAHA) will present a public forum on Friday, April 5, in the AAHA auditorium at 4243 Loudoun Avenue, The Plains, VA, about how the enslaved community at Chapman’s Mill lived and worked for nearly 100 years before the Civil War.
More than 60 local artists will be participating in “Art on the Block” in Historic Occoquan, VA, on Saturday, May 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. Enjoy watching artists while they work, partake in receptions at each of the galleries and sign up for special drawings.
Photographer Nate Larson, primarily known for his collaboration with Rochester photographer Marni Shindelman on their Geolocation project, will speak at the Woodbridge campus of Northern Virginia Community College on April 3. The event is free and open to the public.
GMS Gymnastics in Manassas and the Battlefield Gymnastics Booster Club in Haymarket will host the 4th annual "Flip for the Fight" Invitational gymnastics meet to benefit breast cancer, at the NOVA Field House in Chantilly,VA March 16-17.
St. Patrick’s Day reigns supreme as spring’s favorite food day. People celebrate with green beer and traditional Irish foods, and and many of the necessary ingredients are grown or produced right here in Virginia, according to the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
