Classical instrument petting zoo to visit Central Library in Manassas June 28

A few members of the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra recently visited the Montclair Community Library to help give children an appreciation for and educational experience with classical music. They'll be at Central Library June 28 and Bull Run Library July 21.

Young entrepreneurs ages 6-16 to showcase their businesses June 24 in Gainesville

Twenty young entrepreneurs ages 6-16 will showcase 21 businesses featuring new products and services on Sunday, June 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Eclipse Club at 5615 Wellington Road in Gainesville, according to Trish Driscoll, who has organized the event, open to the public. .

Center for the Arts new show to feature works by Visual Expressions “over 55” community art group

Visual Expressions: A Timeless Perspective, a mixed media exhibit featuring 11 local artists will be on exhibit June 13-July 13 at Center for the Arts in the historic Candy Factory building in Old Town Manassas, at 9419 Battle Street. Visual Expressions is an “over 55” community art group that originated in Prince William County. It was established in 2014 to promote creative endeavors to stimulate the mind, reduce the effects of stress-related diseases, and slow cognitive decline.

Heroes Voices National Poetry Contest reading at Hylton Center June 13

On June 13 at 7:30 p.m., the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas will host the Heroes’ Voices National Poetry Contest Reading, an evening of live music and poetry that explores many perspectives on war, peace, and military service.The winning poems represent reflections on war, conflict, and service.
