Local book author Nancy S. Kyme of Lake Ridge will be the Distinguished Author and Speaker at the Prince William Library Foundation's annual Wine and Food Pairing Dinner and fundraiser in Occoquan Feb. 22.

Too cold & too far to walk: Volunteers needed Saturday mornings to drive people to a nearby laundromat in Woodbridge and then pick them and their clean clothes up and drive them back to where they live.

Volunteers are needed to count the homeless, take veterans and spouses to medical appointment, teach a man to play chess, pick up donations in Woodbridge and bowl for SERVE.

Quilts designed and created by master quilter Sharon Tindall will be on display at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College Feb. 3 to 28 in honor of Black History Month. The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Saturday.
