Libraries in Fauquier County and Prince William County are incredibly user friendly. Newcomers to both counties can easily obtain a library card. If you live in the city of Manassas or the city of Manassas Park, getting a library card and using library materials are part of your government services through an agreement with the county.

Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) and the Fauquier County Master Gardeners (FCMG) are offering a special Aug. 19 free workshop program on “Fall Vegetable Gardening ” presented by Tim Ohlwiler, VCE Horticulture Extension Agent.

Dixie Power Trio, a four-piece group dedicated to the music and sounds of Louisiana, will present a free SummerSounds concert on Saturday, Aug. 16, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Harris Pavilion in Old Town Manassas.
Folk singer Judy Cook will perform a program of Civil War music at Manassas National Battlefield Park on Saturday evening, Aug. 2. Her program,“Women of the Civil War,” will be held in the Henry Hill Visitor Center auditorium at 6 p.m.
Register online until midnight July 31 for the Tour of the Towns - Tour of Prince William cycling event. Same-day registration will be available at the starting point, the National Museum of the Marine Corps at Triangle. Participants will again wind through urban, suburban, exurban, rural, forested, town, flat, and hilly areas.
Potomac Place assisted living facility in Woodbridge will host a casino night with Elvis tribute artist on Friday, Aug. 8, to raise funds to benefit the local hospital, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center Auxiliary. The event is open to the public.
