A couple of area churches in western Prince William are getting into the Halloween spirit, not so much to frighten as to offer a fun time for families and friends, Oct. 25 and 26.

Park Valley Church in Haymarket is having its 10th annual trunk or treat event from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26. Organizer Kevven Kijak said the event usually attracts thousands of visitors and it’s outgrown the space at the church so it’s been moved this year to Battlefield High School, 15000 Graduation Dr.

Halloween fun will be on display at a trunk or treat. Car trunks will be decorated and kids can go from trunk to trunk to collect treats. There will be games for toddlers through teens. The wearing of costumes is encouraged and there will be a contest for those who do with prizes for the kids.
