Basement to attic tours of Liberia, a pre-kindergarten program focusing on railroads and a free book talk are among the February programs at the Manassas Museum.

It seems the Manassas Museum property was destined to be fertile ground for learning. Because before the museum opened at its current site in 1991, the property was home to Swavely School, a prep school for boys from 1924 to 1935. But even before Swavely, another school occupied the site.

How do you rate your child’s school and the education programs in Prince William County? The School Board wants to know. All parents or guardians of students enrolled in Prince William County Public Schools will receive a survey to measure satisfaction and determine how well the School Division is meeting the instructional needs of students.
SPARK, the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools, will award at least 11 scholarships to graduating seniors this year. Five are specifically for STEM careers majors. Two are for athletes and three are for students who plan to be teachers.

A funeral service for Joseph F. Glines Sr., who passed away on June 24, 2024, will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at Pierce Funeral Home in Manassas, followed by interment at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, at 2 p.m.
