The Garden Club of Lake Ridge will welcome Nancy Vehrs, president of the Prince William Wildflower Society, on March 2, at 7 pm in the Tall Oaks Community Center, 12298 Cotton Mill Dr., Woodbridge.
The sixth annual art exhibit at Wakefield School, The Plains, showcases the work of the entire Wakefield Community including students, parents, grandparents, and special friends. The Opening Reception is at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 in the Arts and Music Building. The show will be on display until March 17th.

Action in Community Through Service, a private, non-profit organization that cares for people in need in our community, dedicated its new mobile computer lab during a ceremony recently at ACTS’ headquarters in Dumfries. Julie Moessner, Program Manager for Emergency Assistance, recognized the significant contribution of Gina Reyes and the Lake Ridge Lions Club in making the lab a reality.

To enhance the Appalachian Trail (A.T.) experience for thru-hikers and better manage this natural resource, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), in cooperation with its partners, has launched a new voluntary registration system for those attempting to hike the estimated 2,185-mile-long Trail in one year.
