The deadline for turning in applications for the Nokesville Christmas Parade is Nov 20.

Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas on Rixlew Lane behind Manassas Mall will be hosting the US Navy Concert Band on Friday, November 13 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

This year’s kick-off to the holiday season in our nation’s capital marks the 93rd annual National Christmas Tree Lighting and will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, on the Ellipse at President’s Park (White House). The preshow begins at 4:30 p.m.

Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India will showcase enchanting music and joyous dance in Manassas Nov. 20 and Fairfax Nov. 21 with “The Spirit of India.” at the Hylton Performing Arts Center and in Fairfax at George Mason University’s Center for the Arts in Fairfax on Saturday, Nov. 21. The curtain will go up on both performances at 8 p.m.

In December Fauquier Community Theatre will feature a new spin on an old Christmas classic. 'Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol, 'by Tom Mula. This show, scheduled for weekends Dec. 4-20, tells the tale of how Ebenezer Scrooge's deceased business partner redeems himself from eternal torment by saving Scrooge from his miserable existence. The show will be performed at Vint Hill's Theatre on the Green that recently has been updated and refurbished.

Fauquier County Supervisor R. Holder Trumbo, Scott District, and Kenny Sturdivant, Director of Development for the Brookside Community, opened the first section of Parks & Recreation trail in Brookside with a ribbon cutting. The first section of trail starts at Riley Road and Brookside Parkway, in front of the Brookside Clubhouse, and continues along Brookside Parkway towards Vint Hill for a quarter of a mile. More trails in the same area will open soon.

Area residents are invited to join the annual tradition and kick off the holiday season at Wolf Trap’s 2015 Holiday Sing-A-Long! The free community event will take place Saturday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, VA.

New Dominion Choraliers of Prince William County, an award-winning community choir, will present its holiday musical program Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 6 at the Hylton Memorial Chapel and Event Center at 14640 Potomac Mills Road in Woodbridge.

Encore Chorale, the nation’s largest choral singing program for adults age 55+, will present two Northern Virginia holiday concerts in December.

Stephanie Foerster took the first place People's Choice Award with her curled paper creation titled “Mary’s Hands” in the Manassas Art Guild's (MAG) exhibit at Man Cave during the fall Old Town Manassas "Gallery Walk" event held on Nov. 6.
