Quilts by the Haymarket Chapter of Quilters Unlimited will be on display from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 22-23, Oct. 29-30 and Nov 5-6 at the Haymarket Museum, 15025 Washington St., Haymarket, VA 20169. The theme of the show is Quilting Colorful Seasons with Love.
Manassas Park needs volunteers (individuals and businesses) to help with the annual Trunk or Treat event on Monday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Manassas Park Community Center, 99 Adams Street. Volunteers will hand out candy, decorate their vehicles for Halloween and add to the fun community spirit!
“Monet’s Garden: More Than Just Water Lilies” is an exhibition featuring photographs taken by Gail Sullivan Goodall at Claude Monet’s home in Giverny, France. The photos will be on display in Colgan Gallery at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College from Nov. 1 to 15.
The City of Manassas will mark America Recycles Day, with a Fall Recyclefest on Sat., Nov. 5, 2016, from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at the Manassas Transfer Station, 8305 Quarry Road, in Manassas. During Recyclefest, city residents can drop off household hazardous waste, electronic waste and shred up to four boxes of their paper documents, for free. Proof of residency is required to enter.

Area businesses, a not-for-profit outfit and a civic organization recently partnered with Prince William Area Agency on Aging to create a "Serenity Garden" in the circle in front of the Adult Day Healthcare Center at the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo building in Woodbridge.
On Saturday, Oct. 22, a community open house will be held at the Elk Run Church historical site from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Museum is located at 12187 Elk Run Rd, Midland, VA 22728-2319. A special artifact display on the Manahoac Indians, who occupied the area before Virginia settlers, will be available for viewing.
The annual Manassas Park arts & crafts festival will be held Oct, 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Community Center, 99 Adams Street, Manassas Park, VA 20111, with arts, crafts, decor, jewelry, spa products, food and more.
Garden Club of Lake Ridge will hold its next meeting and program on Monday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Tall Oaks Community Center, 12298 Cotton Mill Dr., Woodbridge, VA. The program is “Designing Wreaths: Harvest, Magnolia, and Holiday Wreaths” with guest speaker Chris Polychronis, owner of Michael's Flowers of Lake Ridge.
