Volunteer Prince William’s Disaster Services Program is looking for people to help deliver emergency preparedness information to the public through a variety of outreach programs. Most activities will occur during regular business hours so this would be a great deal for retirees. Remember, September is National Disaster Preparedness Month!

On Saturday, July 8, Prince William County Fire and Rescue will square off against Prince William County Police Department in a friendly charity hockey event to raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Law Enforcement United.
On Tuesday, July 18, at 7:30 PM at the Freedom Museum in Manassas Airport, Ellen Butler will discuss her new book, The Brass Compass, which describes the activities of women spies during World War II.

RSVP is in urgent need of volunteers aged 55+ who can drive veterans and/or their spouses to medical appointments in Prince William County. There is a particular need for volunteers in eastern PWC to help veterans retired from Quantico and Fort Belvoir.
Join Manassas Park residents and government officials on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Signal Hill Park for the annual fireworks celebration! Admission is free.
There will also be a variety of food trucks. Park opens to spectators at 5:30pm. Free shuttles from VRE and City Hall (both located on Manassas Drive) starting at 5:30pm.

Historic Manassas needs volunteers for its Celebrate America event on July 4th in Old Town Manassas, for various tasks between 11:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.
National Alliance on Mental Illness of Prince William is hosting its Annual Summer JAMboree for individuals and families affected by mental illness at Stonewall Park on June 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. to generate interest for adult and young adult support groups for people living with mental illness in Greater Prince William.
