The Center for the Arts’ Pied Piper Theatre in Manassas has announced auditions for singers, dancers, and actors ages 8-18 for the musical production of The Wiz.

Manassas National Battlefield Park will commemorate the 155th anniversary of the Second Battle of Manassas (also known as Second Bull Run) throughout the weekend of Aug. 25-27.

"Thomas Jefferson" returns to the Peaks of Otter on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m. to lead a limited number of guests on a tour of the scenic mountain peak of Sharp Top and to share his unique perspective on the cultural and natural histories it holds. The tour is made possible through the partnership of the Peaks of Otter Lodge, the National Park Service and Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest.

Saved Hands Foundation is in the final week preparing for its Annual August Back to School Back Pack Giveaway! It’s as easy as picking up a few extra items this week and dropping them off starting at noon on Saturday Aug. 12 at Potomac Library in Woodbridge.

RSVP is in urgent need of volunteers aged 55+ who can drive veterans and/or their spouses to medical appointments in Prince William County. There is a particular need for volunteers in eastern PWC to help veterans retired from Quantico and Fort Belvoir. Volunteers pick up veterans at their home, take them to their appointment, and assist with filling a prescription (if needed) and transport the veteran safely home.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is still looking for volunteers for the Area Agency on Aging’s Meal on Wheels program You can sign up for a regular day or be a substitute driver. It is easy to do just by picking up a few meals at the Senior Center kitchens in Manassas or Woodbridge and delivering to your route. Bring joy and combat hunger among our seniors!

Haymarket Chapter of Quilter’s Unlimited of Northern Virginia will have a quilt show at the Haymarket Museum, Sept. 9 through Oct. 22. The theme will be "Quilting; Now and Then", showing how much, and how little, has changed in the quilting and fabric world.

Manassas National Battlefield Park will commemorate the 156th anniversary of the First Battle of Manassas on Saturday, July 22, with special tours, programs and living history demonstrations July 22-23.

Early registration has begun for Woodbridge Community Choir's Christmas concert season with performance dates set for Dec. 2nd & 3rd. No auditions are required.
