Tunnel construction for water project under the Occoquan River will involve occasional underground blasting procedures starting this month, April, and projected to end in September. Such blasting will consist of a single, one-second blast every other day, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. No blasting will take place on Sundays.
When blasting is scheduled, there will be a temporary 30-minute closure of the pedestrian footbridge, River Mill Park, the Mill Street cul-de-sac, and the access road on the north side of the river.
On Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at 8:19AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Featherstone Rd near Walnut St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a single vehicle crash.

The Fire Marshal’s Officer determined the fire was caused by unattended cooking in the home’s garage. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire conditions to the rear of the single-family home. All occupants were safely out of the structure. The fire was quickly extinguished. The home sustained substantial damage. No injuries were reported.

The driver of the 2007 Chrysler involved in the fatal collision that occurred in the area of Dumfries Rd and Fortuna Center Plz in Dumfries (22025) on April 5 has been arrested, charged and is being held without bond, according to Prince William County police reports.
Between 3:28 PM and 4:27 PM on Friday, April 7, 2023, Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to four working fires in three communities.
