PWC Annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park opens Dec. 6

Prince William County Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park for the third year. The FREE lights display begins Friday, Dec. 6. New this year: Visitors can experience the magic of the holiday season with visits from holiday characters, joyful holiday music sung by carolers and an unforgettable holiday shopping experience on select nights.

PW Police seeking information about homicide in Woodbridge early on July 18

The investigation revealed the victim, identified as an 18-year-old man, and a juvenile acquaintance were in the above area when the victim was shot in the upper body. After the shooting, the acquaintance contacted police to report his friend had been shot before disconnecting and leaving the area. Officers initially responded and checked the area but were unable to locate the involved parties or a crime scene.

Manassas man charged with involuntary manslaughter during gun inspection

The investigation revealed the victim, a 21-year-old man, and two acquaintances were inside the home, passing around a handgun. While handling the weapon, one of the acquaintances to the victim, identified as the accused, neglectfully discharged the handgun, firing a round and striking the victim in the chest.

The Office of the Prince William County Commonwealth's Attorney Amy Ashworth reports that on July 6, 2023, the Honorable Judge James A. Willett of the Prince William County Circuit Court found Gentil Mwenze Banze guilty of DWI-Involuntary Manslaughter in a June 2022 accident that occurred on Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge following his guilty plea to the charge.
