A family of five was displaced this morning when fire broke out on the rear deck of a Lake Ridge townhouse on Tatiana Way and extended up into the attic and minimal damage to one adjoining home.

Crews arrived to find a vehicle partially into the structure with damage to the immediate area. The restaurant was open and serving customers at the time of the incident. On March 24, 2022 at 11:11AM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Rippon Middle School, located at 15101 Blackburn Rd in Woodbridge (22191), was informed by school staff of a gunshot heard near campus.

The investigation revealed that the student, identified as the accused, was in a classroom when he placed a bag on his desk and announced there was a bomb in the bag. Another student in the classroom quickly left and immediately notified the SRO. The building was evacuated, and the SRO quickly located the accused and detained him without incident.
