Governor Terry McAuliffe has tapped four local residents to serve on state commissions.
VA Rte. 28 (Nokesville Road) between Aden Road and Battalion Square will again be closed in both directions Friday and Sunday nights so that crews can continue storm sewer line work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Virginia Department of Transportation will close Interstate 66 westbound in Fauquier County next Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for work to the Rte. 723 (Ashville Road) bridge over I-66. Originally the detour was slated for July 14-15.

Dominion Virginia Power reminds customers to be on the lookout for scammers who threaten to disconnect electrical service immediately if payment is not made. Dominion does not take payment over the phone and never asks for immediate payment of cash, PayPal, ‘MoneyPak/Green Dot’ or any prepaid debit card as a prerequisite to keeping lights on.
