Hypothermia is caused by prolonged exposures to very cold temperatures. When exposed to cold temperatures, your body begins to lose heat faster than it’s produced. Body temperature that is too low affects the brain, making the person unable to think clearly or move well. This makes hypothermia especially dangerous.

Today, Jan. 20, the Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously passed Senate Bill 6 to increase the maximum number of justices on the Thirty-First Judicial Circuit from six to seven.
AARP Virginia Jan. 20 released the following statement from State Advocacy Director Natalie Snider after Senate Bill 376 was referred to the Senate Commerce & Labor committee for consideration. SB376 would establish a Prescription Drug Affordability Board with the authority to set upper payment limits on certain expensive drugs.
Governor Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency today, Jan. 20, due to several rounds of winter weather that will impact several areas of the Commonwealth beginning Thursday and lasting through Saturday.
