Fredericksburg-based American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) and its Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Traffic Control Devices invite students to compete in the 2023 Traffic Control Device (TCD) Student Challenge.
Tax Commissioner Craig M. Burns said, “We are, as always, encouraging you to file electronically and request a refund, if you have one coming, via direct deposit.” Electronically filed returns are typically processed within two weeks, while mailed returns may take up to eight weeks or longer to process, Burns added.
Prince William County's Solid Waste Division has reported that the PWC Landfill off Dumfries Road (Rte. 234) and the Balls Ford Road Facility will be open on Sundays, beginning April 24.

Prince William County Police officers assigned to an off-duty security detail at a carnival on the grounds of Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge heard what sounded like gunfire coming from an area near the entrance to school. The sound caused those attending the carnival to flee en masse, according to First Sergeant Jonathan Perok, public information officer.
