On Wednesday, June 16, 2021 detectives with the Special Victims Unit of the Prince William County Police Department began an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in the Woodbridge (22191) area of Prince William County between May 12 and June 12, 2021.

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 6:15 p.m., Prince William County Police officers responded to the Riverwood Apartments located in the 2700 block of Yosocomico Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an initial report of shots fired. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard before parties dispersed, leaving the area on foot and in vehicles.
The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, DWR (formerly the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, DGIF) is coordinating testing on a selection of deceased birds after the Northern Region area of Virginia began receiving an increase in the number of calls starting May 18 about sick/injured young birds, specifically Grackles and Blue Jays.
The agency cited a 52 per cent increase in irregularities with rabies vaccination certificates for canine imports in 2020 compared to 2018 and 2019, and stated the measure is being taken “to ensure the health and safety of dogs imported into the United States and to protect the public’s health against the reintroduction of dog rabies.”
